Technical Director

The Technical Director manages the operations of the Skopje business unit, leads the team, is responsible for executing construction projects, and developing the business unit’s competitiveness in the market. The key role includes strategic project leadership, coordination with investors and partners, management of sales, budgets, and personnel, as well as ensuring operational excellence.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Complete management of the Skopje business unit;
• Leading weekly internal meetings with staff, task allocation, and keeping meeting minutes;
• Regular reporting to the company owner on project and business status;
• Managing the business unit and projects in accordance with all internal processes and regulations ;
• Leading sales activities and identifying new projects in the Macedonian market;
• Developing and maintaining a network of contacts with investors and partner companies;
• Independently conducting negotiations with investors, contract reviews, and risk assessments before signing;
• Leading cost estimation processes and preparing offers in collaboration with the project team;
• Organizing and managing the project team, including mentoring junior team members on active projects and reporting project status to the owner’;
• Attending all important project meetings with investors and overseeing key project phases;
• Monitoring execution of work orders, financial status, budgets, deadlines, and quality of work and deliveries;
• Monitoring work discipline, motivation, and overall atmosphere in the business unit;
• Developing the business unit, organizing professional training and continuous technical skill improvement of employees;
• Participating in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new personnel;
• Signing documents in accordance with internal authorization regulations (offers, contracts, orders, investments, HR);
• Preparing investment plans and development strategy for the business unit;
• Liquidity planning and regular financial reporting to the parent company;
• Managing legal matters in cooperation with external law firms;
• Proactively identifying market opportunities and developing strategies for entering new projects;
• Analyzing and selecting contractors and subcontractors based on risk, references, and pricing ;
• Regularly monitoring competitors and market trends in the construction and investment sector;
• Introducing and improving quality, safety, and sustainability standards in projects;
• Implementing internal procedures and improving existing operational processes;
• Developing annual operational plans and goals for the business unit;
• Managing internal and external audits in technical and operational areas;
• Ensuring timely technical support and responses in tenders and bidding processes;
• Connecting with academic and professional communities to exchange knowledge and position the company as an employer of choice;
• Reporting extraordinary situations and managing crises in case of project issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree – Electrical or Mechanical Engineering;
• Possession of a professional license and/or passed certification exam is preferred;
• Several years of experience in technical and managerial positions and managing construction projects;
• Experience in leading a business unit and large projects;
• Experience in managing teams and complex technical projects;
• Knowledge of relevant legal and technical regulations;
• Computer proficiency and knowledge of technical software (AutoCAD, MS Project, BIM, etc.);
• Excellent command of English (preferred);
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
