Thank you for considering me a recognizable figure in the HR community. All the work, effort, and dedication I’ve put in have mostly been directed toward raising awareness of the importance of this profession, and it means a lot to me that people recognize the passion and love I have for it. About five years ago, I first heard about DisruptHR when I attended an event organized by DisruptHR Ljubljana, and I was truly impressed.
The story of how I became involved in organizing it is quite personal. I shared it during the introduction of the second event. In short, I was facing a life challenge at the time I obtained the license — I lost my voice as a result of surgery. I needed something to motivate me and help me work on regaining it. So I told myself I would push myself to speak at an event I liked so much, and I took the license.
Ironically, the event that was supposed to help me regain my voice ended up becoming a platform for many HR professionals to be heard — many of whom spoke publicly for the first time at this event. And I still haven’t spoken yet, which makes it even more ironic.
