We have already entered December, the last month of the year. A large number of employees and companies are reviewing the past year, as well as the obligations that need to be fulfilled before it ends.
One of the legal obligations is the payment of the holiday bonus.
The holiday bonus for employees in the private sector amounts to 16,800 MKD, or 40% of the average salary paid in the last three months. For employees in the public sector, specifically in administration, the bonus amounts to 11,000 MKD.
The condition for an employee to receive the bonus is to have worked at least six months during the current year with the same employer. This compensation also applies to employees who have changed jobs, provided they have previously worked continuously for at least six months in the same company.
The payment of the holiday bonus is a legal right of the employee. If the employer fails to pay it, fines of up to €4,000 are предусмотрени—specifically €2,000 to €3,000 for the company, and €500 to €1,000 for the responsible individual within it.
Any irregularities related to the payment of the holiday bonus can be reported by employees to the State Labour Inspectorate.
